Privacy Policy

CINS takes the protection of our users’ privacy very seriously. We will make every reasonable effort to ensure that your user information does not fall into the hands of any third party. Our Privacy Policy is as follows:

CINS collects personally identifiable information from our users for the purpose of providing incident notification services only. Personally identifiable information collected by CINS may include name, address, phone and pager numbers, email addresses and credit card information. Your personally identifiable information will not be sold, rented or given to any outside party without your permission, except as required by law. CINS reserves the right to perform statistical analyses of user activity and to inform advertisers of such information, as well as the number of users that have been exposed to or clicked on their advertising banners. We will provide only aggregated data from these analyses to third parties, and never your personal data. Further, CINS reserves the right to contact a subscriber regarding account status, changes to the service, and other matters relevant to the service to which you subscribe.

CINS may allow third parties to advertise their services on the CINS Web sites, and are not responsible for any actions or policies of such third parties. Users should check the applicable privacy policy of such party when providing personally identifiable information.

Users should be advised that when they disclose personally identifiable information on public forums such as the CINS chat rooms or mailing lists, that information can be collected and used by third parties which may result in unsolicited email messages or, in some cases, criminal misuse. CINS has no control over this activity, and users are advised to refrain from giving out any personal information over such public forums.

Upon the request of a subscriber, CINS will make every reasonable effort to functionally delete the subscriber and his/her personal data from our database, however, it may not be possible to delete a subscriber's entry completely because of the redundant system back-up records in place.

This privacy policy is issued by Current Incident Notification Services, Inc. (CINS). CINS reserves the right to modify this policy at any time, and will notify users with a message posted on the CINS home page for one week following any change made. This policy is not intended to be a contract, and does not provide any legal rights or obligations to or for any party.
